Represent Him!
In my prayer time with the choir last Sunday afternoon, I referenced Colossians 1:15. Consider this description of Jesus Christ: “He is the image of the invisible God….” In her session at the Leadership Forum last week, Kay Warren (Rick’s wife) challenged us to simplify our Christian walk to the living out of that phrase. Of all the powerful statements I heard, that one has pierced my heart the most. How awesome that God’s unique design is within each one of us, so that when properly focused, we actually portray an image of Him?!! What view of the Father did my “world-dwellers” see through my life today? The Father, who made the greatest sacrifice ever….all because of love. Was I an image–a snapshot– of His immeasurable heart? If my unsaved friend or complete stranger googled images for “The One True Living God”, would anything about us be found in that search engine? The “classroom” where God teaches me how to grow in ministry is often the day-to-day movement through my own world. It is there that I succeed or fail. Let’s represent Him through the power available to us….it’s all because of Jesus and His grace!
To Live In Harmony!
Today, I want to share with you Psalm 133 from the New Living Translation: “How wonderful it is—how pleasant—when brothers and sisters live together in harmony! (2) For harmony is as precious as the fragrant anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. (3) Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And the LORD (Yahweh-Covenant-maker and Keeper) has pronounced his blessing, even life evermore.”What does it mean, then, to live in harmony? Is it unity? Yes, but notice, it doesn’t say unison. Unison is when all voices or instruments are on the same note or part, right? Harmony is different parts, but in tune with each other. We all play different instruments, sing different vocal parts or operate different equipment, but we can actually harmonize with each other!! It’s peaceful…..it’s pleasant…..and most of all, it’s powerful!!
I sense a level of unity and peace among our team that is new level…..it’s a God thing. It takes time and prayer–connection with God and each other–to get there and certainly to remain there. It is vital that we call each other’s names in prayer to the Lord on a weekly basis. I hope you get “shoutin’ happy” as I do when we see how God has blessed our team with growth and strength! I challenge you to pray for each one of our brothers and sisters! We desire the anointing of the Lord more than anything! Our unity is precious and fragrant to God!
Welcome!
